Otherwise I really like the mobile and desktop apps compared to everything else I've tried, especially now that the platforms are more unified having used 1Password 3 over a decade ago. That and having users under the family plan being able to share with eachother without the Organizer having full access, this would also solve users that create multiple vaults for just themselves since it looks like all vaults are shared vaults on the family plan outside of the one personal/private vault for each user as far as I can tell.īut from what I've been reading that's not a easy fix based on how accounts and sharing is designed. Not too big of a deal but the deletion part is a concern at the very least they should be able to access a read only version of their personal/private vault since there's essentially no backup. Family account transitions if some one in the plan were to get their own individual account or branch off into their own family account. Thanks, yeah that's the only two things really holding me back from switching everyone over it makes sense from a business/team perspective as you'd want access over everything in some capacity with a master key but not as much in a family without some blind trust of the Organizer having that master key. Shared Vault 1 - Alice, Bob, Eve, and WendyĪt a minimum Alice and Wendy would need the Family subscription, otherwise if it was just Alice they technically have full access to shares 3 and 5? Unless I'm missing something. So for example if there's 4 people that have shared passwords in the following ways: Then each user would need to create another account for each shared connection? I looked at individual 1Password accounts but the sharing isn't quite the same, being limited duration and all, so it seems like the only way to accomplish this is multiple users would need their own family subscription depending on the number of shared connections between members. anything you put in vaults outside of the one private/personal vault is technically fully accessible by whoever the Organizer is regardless of permissions. I was playing around with trial looking to migrate my family over and after some testing I noticed the Family Organizer has full access to ALL shared vaults regardless if they were shared with them or not.Īfter seeing that I can't really tell everyone it's completely secure without saying buttt.
